You know what? I'm going to continue my story tomorrow. I know, I know, I'm procrastinating, but this is going to be a long post and I'm going to be up all night if I try to start writing this now. I'll start it tomorrow, and write a little each time I'm at my computer, so by the time I go to post, I'll already have something started. Sound good? Tonight I'll talk about my grades.
So I ended up with three B's and a C. Not bad, per say, but I could have done better. My parents keep saying that considering the circumstances, it was good. I keep telling myself I could have done better though.
I know this was really short, but I'm tired, my back hurts, and I have school in the morning. I will elaborate tomorrow!
Eh. There's always room for "better". Even when you get straight A's, you might not have 100s. Even when you have 100s, you could have done the extra credit. Even when you did it all, you could have studied more and taken more of it to heart and really got it so deep in your bones that you take away mystical life lessons from it.
ReplyDeleteAlas, this is how your Aunt Tracy thinks and it has made her into a stressed out, over-achieving, I've-never-done-enough FOOL!
So...relax a little. Be gentle with yourself. You did amazingly well in an insane semester with insane outside forces as well.
Did you learn from the experience? Improve some study skills (that will guide you all of your life)? Learn a new way of thinking (that will take you farther than any factoid ever will)? Discover a new method for staying organized in your own way (that will carry you though anything life throws at you)? *That's* what school is all about, imo. Work on those larger concepts and the subject matter, tests and grades will more easily fall into a place of contentment for you.
Or, you will follow my bad example and still stress over perfection decades from now, working yourself into a frenzy over a fully futile cause. NOTE: do not follow in my example!!! :D
Congratulations on getting through the semester and for pulling off some pretty darn good grades even regardless of the circumstances around them! Kudos to you, and here's to a new fresh semester full of new opportunities and excitement for you!!!
